Responses to March poll..

Hey guys – this month we received a bunch of feedback. We’re glad to say majority of it was positive, but in this post we want to talk about some of the suggestions and concerns players have. Also, as always, if you have issues that admins aren’t addressing, please reach out to the owners. Admins can be very busy and may miss things happening. Something we’ve seen since the beginning of our server is players thinking we are okay with something bad happening when in reality we are busy and unaware. If something is bugging you, someone breaking rules, etc….just reach out to us.

Special Event 15: The Dominion

Questy’s Log November 15th: Island life isn’t the easiest. Set up my shop some months ago, and people listened to me at first. Told them about the Dominion. Told them about the attack and how my people lost. Should have known something was wrong the day the Dominion found my home. No wind that morning. The birds were silent. Didn’t catch any fish that day. Like all the living beings knew to hide. Well, guess not my people. Welcomed the Dominion’s boats with fruit and water when they came upon our island. Welcomed us back with bullets. Fishermen and farmers against armored gunmen, didn’t last long. A few like me lived, we knew the caves well enough and rigged some traps. Slowed them down so we got a bit of distance but not enough. Led them to where the bandits lived. Those bandits would fight anyone on their lands. Knew that the bandits’ eokas would get us some more time. Not proud of what we did, but we had to get out. Stole the bandits’ boats and made our way...

Responding to Prep for Age 14 Survey

Cheers and thanks to everyone for taking the time to complete our monthly survey and provide insight/questions. Make sure to check out the channel in our Discord, #prep-for-age-14-survey-results, to see how our community voted. The server owners (Wild and Ven) read all of your questions and thoughts and wanted to take the time to address some of them. Do you have any suggestions relating to our land claim rules: Pending land claims should be raidable until shown on map, it should be the players fault to lose items in bases pending land claims in discord. or atleast bases incorrectly marked without HQ or CS on sign. players shouldnt have to dig through discord channels and posts to make sure something is claimed or not. This would only favor seasoned community members here and discourage new clans from joining the server. What sets us apart from the rest of Rust is that we are here to develop a community, a haven from the toxicity that permeates the majority of other...

Welcome to the Invasion of the North Pole

The sound of bells faded into the memories of the island residents as they packed their Christmas decorations away. Santa had come frequently over the last few weeks riding through the sky to drop sparkling presents and sneaking presents along the ground outside when people weren’t looking. All this to prepare the island residents for the ultimate celebration of Christmas that came swiftly. Shades of red and green with touches of silver and gold lit the land and hearts of the people. The cities were crammed with the residents as they celebrated together with melting chocolate bars, bright lights and garland over windows and doors, and a smattering of snowflakes to dust the streets. Good cheer was shared on that fine evening and the island residents went bed with full bellies and bright smiles. And yet, when one of the city mayors awoke several mornings later, he was devastated find the well worn path to the town hall was ravaged. Decayed remnants of the city were spread across...

Battle Of The Three Empires

Rust Empires One Year Anniversary Event!   To celebrate our one year anniversary, we’re doing an event that will give everyone a very simplified look at the original server concept. The map is broken into three cities (Empires) and clans can only build on claims connected to whatever city they pledge their loyalty to. During the next 2 weeks, the cities battle to control the Warzone to decide who is the dominating empire. There is no PVP/KOS outside of the Warzone.

Welcome to the Warzone

No Man’s Land has moved into its phase 2: claimable lands with clans vying for control of the re-born Warzone.   Each time a land is claimed for the first time, the group will be rewarded a supply signal. On purge day, we will tally up who controls how many points and each team will be given weapons/explosives based on how many claims they own at that point in time.   General Rules You don’t need to announce attacks, standard No Man’s Land rules apply. Raiding and KOS allowed at anytime within The Warzone. Can only wall off bases, not whole zones. Turrets and traps are allowed outside in this area. All clans or solo players are allowed to participate as long as they don’t live in a frontier, city, or RP claim. Land Claiming Your non-Warzone land does not need to be touching this area to make your first claim. All claims after that point most be connected to your first Warzone claim. Players can claim or take over land every 4 hours. If you lose a claim...

New Server Structure

Hey, peeps, as some of you have likely noticed there have been rules/info posted about FTP admins and Admin Council from the past few weeks.   Today, we are officially announcing the restructuring of the staff team!   Currently, the owners handle map drawing, plugins, ban appeals, and many more things. By adding these new ranks and sharing some of these responsibilities, it allows the server owners to take a step back. We have been running the server for a year with a steadily increasing amount of work on our plate so we are grateful to our team members who want to help with taking on some additional work. Hopefully if there is time from distributing some of our tasks, we could start posting more on the Rust Empires’ Youtube page; address other items that need attention for the server;  and also start to think about other games we could apply the Empires’ ruleset to.   TLDR, the server owners will be taking a step back from the daily server work and so we have the...

Era 11, Event Week – Build Highlights

Hi everyone! Sid here, Another month, another great era.  Many new players joined us during Era 11 and it was great to see the new faces and a healthy dose of creativity. Here are some highlights of awesome builds I came cross while hunting scarecrows and participating in other shenanigans during event week during Era 11. Hollows HQ SrA_GPruitt’s Stronghold with Graveyard! NEO Tokyo’s Base A frontier compound (Matt, Watermelon, Vava and Phantom) The Demon’s Arena and Otherworld Townhall (Venci) GhostWolf’s Shack Something by Niaiserie LoneWolf’s Graveyard Halloween Spooktacular! (Built by Pander) As you can see our community really made use of the added items introduced by Facepunch as part of the Halloween Event! We are hoping to to make posts like this one (and when time allows, Videos) as often as time allows, so if you or your clan created something extraordinary, you are encouraged to post the best possible view of your creation to the...

Rules changes for November 2018

SAM turrets With the addition of the new SAM turrets, players will only be allowed to place these in No Man’s Land. Originally we wanted them to be allowed in all bases, but the radius is huge and the damage of the rockets can destroy the new hot air balloons quickly. If a SAM turret is placed in NML but is able to hit targets outside of NML, it will be removed without any warning and your ammo will be lost.   Tool Cabinets in No Man’s Land Bases inside of NML no longer require their Tool Cabinets to be legal. Meaning in NML ONLY, TCs can be placed within honeycomb without any door access.   City Evictions Since we tried the City Council for two months and it failed to pick up steam, all players on Rust Empires are allowed to vote on Frontier & City evictions.    City Requirements To make a city, we have increased the required amount of players to four. We’ve seen many cities fail fast since they never get enough people, to avoid that we have increased the...
